How much would my design cost?
Due to the custom nature of design and development, there are no fixed costs of every type of project. However, every project comes with a free consultation and quote, so you can see how much your project will cost without any obligations or up front fees.
Why should I hire a freelance designer over an agency?
In most cases, the cost of design and development from a freelance designer is significantly smaller. Reasons for this are the overhead costs for agencies such as multiple employees, insurances, properties, etc. With a freelancer, your cost and project would be handled personally by the designer and you don't have to deal with multiple departments or no personal attention.
What does my cost include?
All of my estimates are given after a free consultation about your project needs. My estimates include everything from the brainstorming to the finished project in your hands.
Are there any hidden charges?
When you receive and estimate from me, it includes every penny of the price you would pay for the project. However, if for some reason there were significant changes to the project in the middle of development, I would let you know ahead of time if there are any additional costs to change the project.
How long will my project take to complete?
Each project is different, so there is no set time length to all projects. However, I do work with your time schedule and try to finish every project in a time sensitive matter. Your project is important to you and you want it done professionally and quickly. As a freelance designer, I can be flexible and work with you to get the project done when you need it.
Are my files safe and confidential?
Yes, when you need to give me files for a project, I make sure to keep them safe and in a secure location. I also make sure that all files are kept confidential and only shared between you and I, so if you are working on that big project that must remain confidential until launch or if you just want some personal files worked on and do not want anyone else to see them, they are safe with me.
Do you do free work or pro bono work?
If rare situations, I do offer services for trade if the benefits are mutual. If you need some work done and want to trade services instead of money, feel free to contact me and we can discuss the options.
What process do you go through to complete a project?
I start off with a free consultation. I want to know everything I can about your project to make sure I have a clear understanding of what you are looking for. Then I give you your free estimate.
When you are ready to continue, I start by creating storyboards and designs that you can review at any time. Once we have a final design and/or storyboard, I begin development on the project. You can see the development of your project at any time for reviews, updates, or changes.
When your project is complete, I will hand over all the files and have a final meeting with you to make sure you are happy with the finished product and there are no additional changes.
What if my projects are continuous?
It is not uncommon for projects to need continuous support, maintenance, or updates. Generally websites are the most common that fall into this category. If you need a "Go to Designer" for your project that you can rely on at any time, I can easily work with you to set up a different cost option such as an hourly, weekly, or per change request basis.
What If I don't live in the Kansas City Area?
Not a problem. Everything I offer can be done for any location. As long as you have an internet connection, you can see your project process and development from your location. I am also very responsive and work well remotely, so there are several ways to stay in touch throughout the entire process.
How and when do I make payments?
Generally, a payment schedule is created during the consultation and estimate process. Normally, there is a deposit, and then a schedule based on the estimated hours to complete the project.
Payments can be made by cash, check, or using your credit card through Paypal.
Can I contact you for updates?
Yes. I will also keep a copy of the files that I created for you, so if you need updates, I can easily make them from either the files I retained, or from new files that you provide.
